FAQs — Label Assessment UAE

Is Arabic mandatory on all food labels sold in the UAE?
Yes. All mandatory label information must appear in Arabic on products sold in the UAE. This includes product name, ingredient list, allergens, nutritional panel, dates, net quantity, and manufacturer/importer details. The Arabic text must meet minimum font size requirements and be a verified translation, not machine-generated.
Can I use a sticker to add Arabic to my label?
Yes, stickers are accepted for smaller brands and importers. However, the sticker must cover all mandatory fields, must not obscure any required information on the original label, and must be applied before the product enters the UAE market. We advise on sticker content and placement.
Does the same label work for UAE and Saudi Arabia (SFDA)?
Often the core content is the same, but SFDA has specific requirements around font sizes, certain mandatory fields, and claim wording that differ from UAE requirements. We assess for both simultaneously and flag where a single label can satisfy both, and where you need a separate Saudi-specific variant.
What is the difference between a label assessment and label translation?
Translation is converting text from one language to another. Label assessment is checking whether your entire label — in both languages — meets the regulatory requirements of the target market. We do both: assess for compliance and provide certified regulatory Arabic content where needed.
Do you provide label assessment for cosmetics as well as food?
Yes. We assess cosmetic labels against UAE MOIAT requirements and SFDA cosmetic labelling guidelines. Cosmetic labels have different mandatory fields — INCI ingredient names, warnings, country of origin, responsible person details — and we cover all of these.
How do I send you my label for assessment?
Contact us via the form below or WhatsApp. Send your label as a PDF or editable AI/EPS file along with your target markets and product category. We’ll confirm scope and turnaround time within a few hours.
